I'm going to take a look at this tomorrow. I am really interested in the table/base to make a stout workbench from and would really like to restore the saw, but I have ZERO room for it. Not to mention, I'm about as handy as a foot when it comes to wood working.

I've never heard of these saws before? Anyone have any info? I haven't heard back from the seller, but was wondering what I should offer:dunno:???

Here's a couple of pics.

For me the tablesaw is only as good as the fence. I dont see that? Looks solid, would want that base very solid.

I'm gonna take a look at it tonight after work. The seller is asking $100, but I am not really looking to spend it for just the stand. I'm gonna see if he will take $75. That's really all I can see spending for it.

Wow, a gear drive table saw. I'd bet that was a high end piece of equipment in it's day.

75 sounds about right to re purpose that as a welding table or some other base.

Get back to work on your letters!!!!

I know, I know. My dad has been bustin' my stones about getting it done as well since it's stored at his shop.

I have psoriatic arthritis, and at the request of my (not so brilliant) rheumotologist I stopped taking my Humira injections. Well, needless to say, the arthritis is alive and kicking the **** out of my feet/back and knees:sad:.

I just went back to see him last week and now I have to go see a dermatologist before he will renew my script. He gave me a script for some anti-inflamatory med, but it isn't doing squat for the pain. Basically, any work requiring me to stand up for any long length of time is out of the question. It *****, but I'll be back to it as soon as I get back on the Humira. It does the job 100% for me.

The base for a workbench can by put together out of 4x4 lumber for cheap.

I'm philosophically opposed to scrapping out working machinery. But on the other hand, do we know it's working and complete? The the seller has it in pieces, it obviously hasn't been used for many years, he's not getting any old saw lovers for $100, so your money, your decision.

I definitely understand where you are coming from. I've been restoring vehicles for quite some time and it is something I run across often when lurking for parts. You go to a guys house who has 15 of the same vehicle in various states of despair, and he will let you pick parts off of any of them to make a buck.

I am definitely not that guy, but still like to "repurpose" a vintage piece that could very easily make its way to the scrap yard. I didn't get to look at it tonight, but I'm heading up on Saturday to hopefully take it off his hands.

I don't care for scrapping out old machines unless you just can not get them running ever again; in which case someone might need a part to get their machine up and running.

Why I love any old machine enjoy:
