I just picked up this old welder out of my grandpas barn. It's a p&h tr-180. What can you guys tell me about it. Google didn't produce much. And for some reason it won't let me post photos. I'll work on that.

If it is the one I'm thinking about, it's a AC only stick welder from the 50's 60's. :headscrat:

They made some nice machines back in their day, but technology has advanced quite a bit since then.

Something screams at me "Airco". Maybe its the sticker colors. The old welders weren't afraid to wind the transformers with copper - lots and lots of copper! And the transformers used massive iron lament cores. Heavy cusses, but good arc quality.

about half way down under "products evolve" It states the got into welder manufacture in the 30's
