I'm new to posting a for sale ad here, but I came into possession of a number of hand planers and thought there may be some interest from folks on this forum before I go to Craigslist. If I am way off base with my asking prices please PM me and let me know. I tried doing some online searches to understand what it is I have here but I'm far from an expert.
So here goes...
Green planer:
Circa: 1940's
Manufacturer: Sargent
This is an older, adjustable throat block plane marked "Craftsman 187.37052-A" on the cutter, and "U.S.A." on the inside bottom of the casting. It has an adjustable cutter depth and throat width, plus the lateral adjustment lever, all in very good working order. The cutter is set in the bed at 20 degrees, the cutter is sharp, plenty of stock on it, and ready to use. Nearly all of the planes original paint is intact, some minor markings (possibly cleanable) it's bare metal surfaces are mostly clean. There are no cracks, or edge dings, overall very little wear. The adjustable throat works very smoothly. The cutter is 1 5/8" wide, and the plane is 6.2" long overall. Asking $40 plus shipping.
Millers Falls:
This one is a bit plain looking but overall nice condition. It has the number "302" imprinted in the base just above "Made in USA". The handle states "Millers Falls" in a light yellow engraving. Top of blade also reads solid tool steel, Millers Falls, and made in usa.Grey paint is about 95% intact, some surface rust on the bare metal areas. Blade is sharp and ready to use. Asking $25 plus shipping.
Fulton Plane:
This is a Fulton Plane made by Sears I believe back in the 1920's. It was the value brand of the time and even says "Value Leader" on the handle. Overall nice condition for it's age, missing piece of frame at front edge, wear marks and a bit dirty. Blade still sharp, asking $10 plus shipping.
Craftsman Jack Plane:
This is a very nice Craftsman Jack Plane. It reads "Made is USA" on the base, Craftsman on the lever cap, and Craftsman made in USA BL 610.3743 on the blade. It measures 14" long by 2-1/2" wide with a 2" blade. Paint condition is great, no damage, nearly new looking. The red paint on the lever cap is chipping. Comes with the original box that is in good shape for it's age. Some wear on edges and faded graphics, pen marks on box cover, no major tears or missing flaps. Asking $60 plus shipping.
I have tons more pictures of each unit to show more details. If you are interested in a certain one or multiple, I can post more pics here or send them to you.
