Hello,
I am looking for a vintage workbench and wondering where I could look to buy? I am in Arizona and am open to pay for shipping. Thanks, JDW

My uncle has an original Alemite that he bought in the late 50's or early 60's. It was moved from N Illinois to S Mississippi and put back into service. 10 maybe 15 years ago he closed his shop and moved that two lubesters and a late 50's early 60's Snap-On tool chest into a storage container. He tool me out and showed me this goldmine a couple weeks ago. I may have a chance of getting these. But they are well taken care of right now. I will get pictures next time I go down there if he will let me.

I have vintage Lincoln workbench for sale. I'll get some pics posted soon. The workbech is in nice condition. It is missing the pull down door that goes over the workbench and some trim pieces. It would be a pretty easy resto. There is NO rust problems or any major damage. $1500

The matching Lincoln Greaser robot is also available.

Thanks!

I picked up a similar bench at work a few months ago. The thing is crazy heavy and looked terrible. The shop used to use it as a paint mixing station, used to be black but had over 3 inches of dried paint all over the sides and front. The last few months I have cleaned it all up and repainted it. All I have left is to make a bench top for it. The sign over the top used to say valve service but being I am a Jeep guy I remade it. Oh did I mention it was free, cant beat that!

It's funny. This thread got me to go through my whole garage for something like the 'look' of these vintage benches.

It started with this metal topped bench:

And that led to the whole shop getting a treatment in the same spirit.

I know it's not exactly the same as these benches -- but the idea of the shroud up above for lighting still makes great sense.

So, thanks Ryan!

I've been keeping my eyes open for ideas for benches etc. for my garage build. Those work stations look very cool indeed. Not much chance of finding one on this side of the pond though!
There doesn't seem to be much in the way of complicated fabrication in them.
If I can find a matching pair of old single steel cabinets,I might just have a go at making a work station myself.Rolled sheet metal panels attached to the cabinets to form the curves, fabricate the bench using round tube for legs and skin with sheet steel.Oooooh,I feel a plan coming on!

That's actually not a bad idea, to make one from scratch. If you do, start a thread!

I guess I could have bought that on ebay instead of eating, driving, having heat, water or electricity, etc, this month. Went with the eating, etc, instead.

Jack, shut up.:yikes: (just kidding) Your garage in one of the best, and i love it. It is not as beautiful (not trying to be mean) as say the Porsche garage, but a very, very nice garage that is meant to be used and get stuff done as long as being esthetically pleasing to look at;)

I promised pics long ago and never got them.
Well here are 2 shot with my phone, it sits in the back of the shop out of harms way, seems to be a catch all regardless.
One day we want to get it cleaned up and put it in the waiting area.
