I'm still looking for the name plates and aluminum trim for the cabinets of a Graco...I'll pay a finders fee if anyone can help me get them!

Does anyone know much about this type of old Lincoln grease station bench? I was called in to clean out an old repair station and I found this under a truck load of gas pump parts? I don't collect any of this type of stuff. Any info is appreciated. I will be looking to sell this.

Thanks

It's tough to tell from the one cluttered photo, but if the graphics are connected to a workbench, I would say PLEASE DON'T SCRAP IT!

Where are you located? Someone here who is close to you could get eyes-on and give a better evaluation.

I am in east coast Canada. This is a complete lincoln grease station bench the old fella says all that is missing is the old vise that was mounted on the top right front corner of the bench. There are knobs and gauges on the back part. This place is a disaster so I do not want to over look anything when I am cleaning it out. There are wrenches and oil squirt cans, hoses, etc on the bench and if they belong to the bench I want to try keep it all together.

Thank you for the link. Yup that looks just like it. This one has all the original tools etc I think, I just need to figure out what all is excess debris and what was the original gear.

Do you know what the final value was for the one you posted the link to?

Thanks
J

Sadly I do not remember the price, I just grabbed a screen shot.
It was most likely on the east coast and not in my price range, shipping-wise.

Found this old Hunter cabinet in our local Chevy dealer that was closed as part of the GM restructuring. I was in there the other night while supervising float construction for our schools homecoming parade. The new owner of the building gave it to me to get it out of his way so they can fill the pit in and use the space. The blueprint was from 1967 so it's a little newer than my other ones but will be pretty nice with a little peg board and a counter top added to it.

I recently got a similar workstation to these posts from an old Ford store that closed. I think am thinking about restoring it but didn't know if anyone knew anything more about this particular one. It says Valve Service and the workbench goes full length. Sioux emblems. It has a couple holes on top like there was a sign or something mounted on top. Does anyone know what that would have been? Any other info? I attached a couple pics. Thanks Drew

Sioux Tools offered these Valve Service cabinets in their tool line in the late 40's - 50's.
Here are two more of them:

The star shaped handles are on many vintage Sioux tool cabinets.

Here is a 1948 Ad with the work bench on it: $395

I assume the top holes are from marquee signage like the Sioux Ad shows.
Even the blue one pictured started with the Valve Service light up sign.

Has anyone seen or have a photo of a Sioux bench that has a scrolled top marquee like the line drawings in the 1951 ads listed above? Thanks

Just bought an Alemite work station at Back to the Fifties swap meet in St Paul last weekend. The guy is going to deliver it on Wednesday night. Will post some pics when it gets here. Going to use it as my back bar in my basement 50's diner.

This is the one I bought at back to the 50s car show. It was delivered by the seller. I am going to restore it and use it as the back bar in my 50s diner in the basement. It is in pretty good shape with a minimal amount of dents. I am missing the alemite emblems, so if any of you guys know where I can get my hands on a pair of emblems let me know.

I had been looking for one for 5 years. I paid more than I really wanted to, but I have never seen one at a swap meet before and this guy had 2 for sale. The other one was already sold by the time I got there, but he had this one at home.

I thought I'd post a few pics of my original Alemite Work bench. Not sure of the exact year but assume 30's -40's. Came out of a Chevrolet Dealership in Eastern WA. Looks to have a repaint over the original at sometime, as well as some different door latches than original. Still has the red pull out parts washer under the middle right cabinet. I'm scheming how I want to restore. I have all the trim for it (missing a couple in pics), as well as it has the original Alemite medallions. These are really cool pieces from the past!

I am working on restoring one of these, mine is missing the glass in the two windows. Can you or someone else on here tell me or better yet take a picture of the rubber or whatever else holds the glass in place?

I have never seen an Alemite in person, with the original glass intact, to know what the original factory padding was. The assumption is that there would have been a felt-like, possibly braided, material in between the glass and metal. These most likely deteriorated or were swapped out over the years.

The metal window flange on the inside top of the cabinet is slightly deeper than the bottoms, so that you can slide the glass up and in and down. Please, let us know if you find a good rubber substitute.

We would love to see pictures of yours restored, when you are done!

So I posted pics of the bench I bought a while back. I finished it just before Christmas. Here is the finished project.

I just finished the restoration of my old Alemite cabinet. It is now sitting in the living room with a TV on it. I am in need of two things: one is the Alemite badge at the top center and the other is the trim around the add glass just one side. If I could have someone lend me an Alemite center badge I have someone willing to cast it. I can then make the available to anyone that needs them. Check out the photos of the before and after along with what I need. Thanks
