I stopped buy a neighbors house today and asked to look at his work station, he's a retired Lincoln mechanic. He's willing to sell it and I told him to get a hold of me when he's ready.:D

I'm pretty sure it's a mid-forties Lincoln or, that is, Lincoln Engineering.

I'd be interested if he didn't want much for it. But I wouldn't pay an arm and a leg for it. I saw one of those somewhere, not sure if it was here, and the guy wanted over three grand for it. :scared:

I had to laugh when I saw the pictures of that work station , it's exactly as I remember the ones that were in the gas stations I worked at in my younger days . Right down to the piled up work bench and the sloppy painted and grease stained cabinets . And boy I wish I had one now.

The fact that you know someone with one of those ,

They are WILLING to sell at some point ,

You are one foot in the door on purchase ,

Puts you in the "You ****" territory.

Good luck on this !

That's pretty neat. I'm fairly sure there was one of those for sale locally on CL here a while back. I want to say it was around $400.

What's a good price for something like that?

This one sold at a local auction a few weeks back for $1750. It's a Lincoln, there is a medalion visible on the center of the top.

Fingers crossed for you Dreamer! I'd be all over one of those give a chance. I'd have to complete rethink/redesign my garage layout to get it in there, but it would be worth it...

That is sweet. And worth redesigning your garage around. I think it's called art deco. Pretty "snazzy" would be the word.

Poor guy, at least it will live on the way it is supposed to be used, unless you decide to use it for a kitchen or something.

We're taking care of the vehicle title work in the morning, I'll bring a trailer over for the Lincoln work bench, tools and tool boxes. There's a shed out back with a lot of new Ford parts still in the boxes. And looking at other pics the work center is a Lincoln.

Some things are just meant to be.
It's sad for the family, but at least they'll have the comfort of knowing that his things will be with someone who will love and respect them as he did, instead of watching them hauled away as scrap.

Congrats Dreamer! Unfortunate the guy died, but fortunate for the family to find someone to save it from likely family stupidity and scrapers...

I have one in my basement fully restored and with glass front doors. Makes a beautiful display cabinet.
I have another in my workshop unrestored. Just cleaned it up a little and using it. Gets a lot of comments.
Have three more we want to sell...$1800 each

I spent ALL day cleaning and loading tools/toolboxes from the neighbors to my shop, what a mess I have on my hands now. The Lincoln workstation hasn't been loaded yet and will have to wait until next weekend.

Does anyone know if this breaks down into smaller pieces?

I would assume it does for shipping purposes. Great score and I will be watching this as well for restoration progress. Glad you are keeping his memory alive with his tools.

I thought it was made of wood at first, so I was thinking "What a piece of junk why would anyone be excited to pick up that trash", took me about 10 minutes to then come back to this thread and take a second look.

Nice find! Thats going to make an awesome restoration project! Just watch out for spiders!
