Is there tips on removing it and not screwing it up ? I would think it cant be too hard ? But not having done it before . Want to play it safe!
I have a leak in my wall and not sure if its coming from the roof/flashing or the siding ?

I found the easiest way to get it started removing it is at a vertical seam, where two pieces in the same course meet. Just get a pry bar or something behind the seem and pry out near the bottom of the piece and the bottom should pull from the piece below it. Then you are off an running. To get it reattached after is the trickier part, and one of these helps.

Once you have it started, just pull it off. I'd hire a reputable siding guy to check things out. They can do a good job and they know exactly what they are doing.

Couldn't find that tool at HD (surprise) So I tore it off by hand , not so hard but my hand are tired ! Not happy about what I found underneath but now I know ! Time for some repairs.

For anyone that reads this in the future. . .

At the 2 local HD stores by me the tools are in a box under the sidinig. No sign of them in the tool section.

You don't need a tool to remove the siding. A claw hammer at the bottom of the top piece of siding will unsnap it. After removing that piece, just remove the nails and unlock the corresponding piece. Siding removal goes from the top down in reverse order that it went up.

Yep with some "wiggling" the long pieces come right off . The pain will be going back and pulling nails, and removing screws.
