Vinyl siding install costs

I got a quote from someone to do the aluminum trim work around the garage I'm building and he also gave me a quote to do the siding as well. I think he inflated the costs of the trim just so he can get a shot at doing the siding because he wanted $2500 for just the trim. (Fascia/door caps, etc.)

The quote for the entire siding job was $4500. That included gutters. I already did the flashings of all the doors/windows and the vapor barrier. It would just be the vinyl siding/soffits/trim/gutters.

I have all the material (except the aluminum & gutters).

It's a 27'x24'. Plus the gable ends I'd call it 850sqft.

The reason I'm considering it is because it's getting real cold. My garage door is being installed in 10 days and it's literally the last thing I have to do.

It seems high to me. I just bought a used trim brake, I think it was around $300, and pecked away at it with a couple rolls of trim coil stock. I used prepunched vinyl soffit. My neighbor then used it to trim out his shop and maybe I'll get one more build out of it. I was initially planning to sell it as soon as I was done but I tend to collect machines....

October 2019 I paid 1000/ sq for certainteed cedar impressions. I was in the vinyl installation business 15 years ago and it would have taken me many months so I opted to pay.

The cedar impressions is 50% more material cost same labor. Gutters should be in the 4-6$ / foot range. I'd guess 350.00$ -400.00$ / sf is market for conventional siding.

that seems high for out of pocket cost.

What i've ran into is the cost from insurance paying compared to personal paying is at least 40% difference. The cost being higher for insurance work. Typical ime.

Just get another couple estimates to compare.
