A good friend, Rob Farley, has started the buildout of his new shop in Cleveland, TN. Rob and I have road raced together in cars that he's prepped for several years. He's a great mechanic and I'm happy to be able to help him with his own shop. The primary focus will be building and preparing road race and trackday cars, but Rob will also modify and service high performance street cars.
He secured shop space from a friend, but the building was previously used as a polyurethane manufacturing facility then later as a warehouse for a commercial contractor. Between the two previous users, the electrical, plumbing, and finished office spaces are pretty rough.
Over the last week or so, we've demo'd some electrical, begun work on the offices and bathrooms, and installed the lift. We have a long way to go, but the shop is now open for business and will continue to improve. I'll update the pics as we make improvements.
A view of the main shop area, complete with tons of junk.
A couple of three phase panels that are right in the middle of the main bay. These supplied power to the polyurethane equipment and will be taken down this week.
A view of the future bathrooms.
One of the offices complete with ancillary toilet... for some reason.
Another office.
The lobby.
Lift installation in progress.
Cable adjustment.
It lives! The E36 M3 belongs to a member here. He is working out of the country for the next few months. The M will be prepped for mixed duty track/street use when he returns.
More to come...
