Hey guys. I bought this vise at a swap meet for $10. I guess I was excited about the cheap price that I didn't give the vise a good look over before making the purchase.

It turns out one of the jaw pads is missing so when the vise is closed all the way, there is about a 1/4" gap between the jaw pads. Looking for ideas on what you would do to make the vise functional.

Bp: its a fairly common vise so you might find another vise like it to buy cheap for parts or use this one as a parts vise. Or you can make or buy a set if jaws. Are the threads still ok in the jaws face of the on that is missing the replacement jaw?

Copper Jaws.

Look on eBay for a piece of bus bar or other copper bar stock that's about the size of your jaws.

They're great for holding about anything, but especially good for stuff you don't want to leave marks on.
