Vise advice

I need a vise for my workbench so I was going to buy one to fit . The workbench has a locking rod that stops me from putting it at the edge, So I used a vise I pulled from a worktruck to measure. Its a red Olympia with three holes. Its a large 4". With 3 holes it can mount without interfering with the locking rod.
Would you use this vise? I'm guessing its Chinese but so is the workbench. I don't like the red scuffed up paint but it would do. Its just for benchwork for locks. All the other ones I see this size have 4 mounting holes.
Or should I chuck it?

Use what you have. If the paint job bothers you, clean it up and paint it. It is a shop not a show room.

Yeah I'll use the one I have and maybe paint it later. I've never really painted anything much before but I might after I get the bench up and running. Thanks!

if its just for light duty work, just mount the vise to a block of wood, and pull it out only when you use it. I have a couple of vises set up this way. I can post a pic, if you are interested.

ok, here's a few. The smallest is a Morgan 3" jaw- nice size for moving around, and still useful for holding small stuff for cutting, filing, etc.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I don't know if I have anything to cut wood right now but I think I still might try and find a way because that's a cool idea. Im a Locksmith so I like a vise to the side of me always.
