Vise Assistance

I recently purchased a Reed vise with a 5" jaw, but the slide is broken. I paid $35 as is. My plan was to flip it without much work, although I've considered cleaning it up so the patent dates and other markings are more visible. Opinions on this one?

I also have an Allied vise with a 5" jaw. It's in better condition than the Reed. Is one better than the other to keep?

That first vise is scrap. Were you planning it to just be art?

You may get some of your money back by selling the one good hold down handle and the main screw, but everything else on that vise is damaged.

Maybe the main nut is OK too, but I would not bet on it.
