What is it and what is it worth? Ad just says "big *** old vise"

With the U shaped jaws and that flared area above the handle I'm think it's a Prentiss. The Dayid Knowledge Base site is down so I couldn't confirm.

Not a vise expert, however, so free bump for you.

It's an Oswego or Sawyer. They both had the T inside a circle symbol on the front.

Looking at the pics on a better computer I think you are right calling it an Oswego. Unfortunately by the time I got home to call him it was gone. He wanted 50 bucks for it which seems decent to me.

Oswego. It's not a very common brand. As far as value, depends on size. Looks to be in good shape.

I see all these guys rebuilding vises and I have never done one so I was looking for a project. Oh well, that's the good thing about Craigslist, another one will come along soon.
