I have four little Vise Grip locking pliers, the long nose (4LN), regular cure jaw, regular straight jaw, and locking wrench (4LW).
My motorcycle tool kit needs one but I cannot decide which one. I have a full set of sockets and wrenches, so the locking Vise Grip wrench seems redundant. I am leaning toward the long nose, but I have a Leatherman multi-tool with me. The Leatherman plier does not lock, so maybe THAT is the redundant piece. So, that leave the regular short nose curve jaw. However, the locking wrench does have a "beak" that does the same job as the regular curve jaw. SO, the locking wrench may be more versatile.
Locking pliers can be a life saver as a temporary brake lever or shift lever in case there is a crash that broke pieces off the bike. Any riders here? Opinion?
