Vise grip identification

I picked this up this morning and was trying to figure out what it really is, It’s some sort of crimping staking tool made by vise grip. I did a patent number search and nothing and thought I’d throw it out here. Thank you, Eric

I was going to guess chain riveter in general. I've never seen the vise grip version of that!

Anyone know what era this was made?

More interesting VG tools. I have over 200 pair of real VG. The OP Vise Grip was made after 1957. It has the easy release lever.

Damn, I hated using my Dad’s vice grips without a lever release.
For years growing up I never knew any better.
