Vise grip replacement springs?

I've recently acquired a couple Peterson Vice grips, one came without the spring, and the second broke during a little derustling. I doubt Irwin will help me out, and I don't want to buy a Chinese one to get the spring. Has anyone found a good solution? I only have $3.00 total invested so it isn't a big deal.

Harry j epsteins has vise grip springs. They're like a whopping 30 cents.
And gives you a good excuse to buy more tools, since yer already there.

Ace Hardware has them in my neck of the woods. They are not labled as vise grip springs, but are in there specialty trays with all the others.
