Vise guru's please help...Simplex ""?

Guy on CL says he has a Simplex "100" for $75.00 I've been wanting to get a good vise and I know that Simplex is a good, well built vise. I see Simplex vises on the board and on Google but I can't find anything on a model "100". Is there such a thing? Could it be a "400" instead and the dude just can't read? Is it worth $75?

It's pretty hard to tell from the pics but that looks to me like one of their lighter duty models. The slide appears on the thin side and usually, you usually only see the anvil on "homeowner" grade vises. It's probably a decent vise, but IMO, not worth more than $35.

Bring your bathroom scale if you go look at it... $.50/lb would be the most I'd offer.

I agree with the above. Looks like a pressed slide and not a forged one. Nice job on spotting the ad but you can do better. Keep looking and good hunting!
