Vise I scored for free

Hello everyone, I've been reading this forum for a long time, what a great forum. Anyway I saved this Ridgid vise before it was thrown into the dumpster at work. Can anyone give me an idea how old it is? I've been wanting a good vise for sometime, just wasn't ready to throw down the cash for a nice one just yet, I'm glad I waited. It's stamped 35FCPN on the side. Just finished cleaning it up.

Great score! How come this stuff never happens to me...? Anyway, I'm very far from an expert, but just from eyeballing it, it looks 70s vintage, maybe even 80s...?

Back a 2-3 years ago or so when the economy went south, you wouldn't believe all the stuff people were giving away on CL because they were having to move etc. There was so much weight lifting equipment being given away I could have started a gym but I just didn't have enough room to keep all of it so I didn't even bother. Lots of other stuff too, you just had to be there at the right time to get it or the scrapers would haul it off.

Hard to say, visit the Rigid tools site and see if they still make that model. They are still making vises.

I've never seen a Ridgid bench vise, but, I've had a Ridgid pipe vise, cutting tools, wrenches etc for DECADES and they are all top notch! Wonder why it's not painted Ridgid Red?
