Vise ID/Info for a possible purchase

Hey, all -

I’m considering a vise off marketplace, but not sure on it. Oval slide vise, no ID, appears to be in good nick. Seller says everything smooth, solid, no cracks or chips.

Anyone have an idea on maker/age, anything I should be looking for that’s not super obvious? What would you pay/offer? Can’t find anything quite like it, other than MF oval slides.

Someone will know it. Kind of looks like one of those Prentiss off brands, not Monarch.

Yeah, I've seen that before. What didn't jive is that the vise doesn't have that honking nut, so would point to the moddel in Fig 3799, but the No 64 in that drawing is listed at 2-1/2", while the FB ad is for a 4" (according to the seller, though I'd think that would be pretty obvious). Also, the casting on the ad looks more like the Fig 3797 model. So kind of a mix of the two? Not sure what's definitive here. However, seems to be pointing to MF after all - thanks.

So, that established, what's a realistic offer for one of these? I'm out of my depth here, and would appreciate any direction.
