Yeah, I have the sickness now. Still learning what's good, so I would like some help in IDing this. All I have is this one pic and that it says USA on it. Guy is asking $20

That looks like a Columbian Gyro Vise, but it's possible that it's a Will-Burt Versa Vise. The Columbians were normally red, and most of the Will-Burts were orange, but I have seen green as well.

Just found one of these locally. Missing the base. Thoughts from the experts? Appears to be orange, sticker is gone but USA markings are still there, and the dynamic jaw has been broke and rewelded. Pretty decent repair job actually. Sorry, I don't have pics.

Sadly, these don't lend themselves well to be taken apart, so one with a broken/welded jaw and missing base isn't even really good for parts.......

Well bases can be found, but the welded jaw is unfortunate for sure. I need to take a better look sometime so I can get a pic for here. I've been doing some reading and have found they are being reproduced from the original drawings by a former employee. They are still partially made in Ohio.

In the gunsmith business we refer to them as a Parrot Vise. They can be quite useful depending on what you're working on and what your needs are.

...they wanted $25 for a broken handle-less missing-the-base vise. I left it there. No thanks.

Wise move leaving that behind, that repair is so poorly done I have to wonder if someone cut the handle off so as not to break the "weld".

A trusted coworker told me it was a good repair. He must have forgot his glasses when he was looking it over. The coworker knows better.
