Can anyone help ID this vise? I think it is a Wilton or maybe a knock-off? I picked up this and another one for $10 at an auction in Cincinnati a few years back...

The other vise, a smaller, old, 4 1/2 inch Craftsman was in much better condition and has already been restored for mounting on my tool box.

I think that is wilton. Some wiltons had a metal sticker on the side with the name on like the ones rebadged Snap on. I do not know if anything was cast into the the vise itself on ones like that.

After some additional research, I'm pretty sure that it is a Wilton Tradesman 1760. It has 5 inch jaws. I just emailed Wilton to ask about a replacement outer ring base, jaw inserts, an end cap and a new pipe jaw assembly. We'll see what they have to say about prices and availability. I see a restore coming up...

When Autopts gets his garage back in shape from the Garage Sale, he can tell you whatever you need to know. I will give him a poke with a Chinese screwdriver to get him on this. LOL

Its an early Wilton imported 1750 which they discontinued. You can still find jaws cheap for them. I think all the Tradesman's are now made here, or at least assembled here. Worth? About #10 bucks
