Wondering if anybody can ID this vise. Must weigh 100#'s. No name just a makers mark.

Sorry about the title typo. No idea where that came from, saw itafter posting and can't seem to change it.

Made by Bison-Bial S.A., as slowtwitch alluded to, in Poland, as dutchgray stated. I just found one last week. A search on the big 'Vises of GJ' thread up on the General Discussion board will yield many hits. It is a highly-regarded vise from a highly-regarded European OEM. Did you turn the spindle yet? You'll be surprised to see the rear jaw move in reverse. The front jaw is the static jaw! How wide are the jaws? If it feels like it weighs 100 lbs it must be a 6-incher. Mine has 4" jaws and weighs half that. If you're interested in seeing pics, I posted several in the 'Vises of GJ' thread linked here and even more in the post immediately following.

And of course only original with the obligatory the broken front left slide :)
(putting a screw hole there, weakening the cast was never a good idea, whenever you tighten a vise you create forces that want to lift the jaws up, and they are strongest right at this point)

I have a 45# 4" version. Don't know that I have the FPU on the casting, haven't removed all the overspray yet.

It sold at auction today for $27. I didn't need it so I let go to another home.
