Vise identification Parker Prentiss?

I have a vise that I am trying to identify. It has 54 marked on it. The jaws are 5 1/2" wide and it has at least a 10" opening. Has a tag on that says Machinist Supply Chicago. Looks like the rear jaw swivels. Any help would be appreciated.

pretty sure its an old rock island vise. I think there was a few posted on the vise thread recently.

here's a picture of a Rock Island swivel vise and I think yours is like Meatsis mentioned.

I know it's not a Prentiss or a Parker.

There are no markings Besides the 54 in 3 spots. How do I post more pics? It would only let me do 1

MYfel: make more posts if you can only do one picture at a time for now because I've seen other members do that until they figure it out. what does the casting say? does it really say Parker because i'm fairly certain it isn't a Parker or a Prentiss?

I use the paperclip above where you are writing your posts that lets me download up to 7 pictures at a time sort of like an email. yes please post more pictures of that vise even if you have to make several posts to do so.

There is no other markings except for on the bottom of the base 76c and 1/2 1

MY: you just started a new thread with the picture. i'm not sure you can delete the thread so just make a post asking a mod to delete it and post up picture on this thread you started. ok?

there is writing on the side of the vise you posted in your first picture and pretty sure it says Rock Island because Prentiss, Parker, Reed and other vises don't cast their names in vises like that. if your eyes are younger maybe you can see it and make it out. from my blown up picture the vise looks like in pretty good shape and there is a small piece of the back of the swivel jaw missing that shouldn't be a deal breaker.

the # on the bottom and the shape also makes me think Rock Island vise.
