Got this vise in the freebie bin at a garage sale. Other than it being a Wilton brand, I don't know anything about it (age etc). Anyone have any info?

That didn't help much. Searching all the info I could find on the vise brought up 1 post of someone that restored one, but it's not exactly the same as mine.

It's a Wilton Triple Duty vise. They came out in the late 1950's and in the early 1960's it morphed into the Wilton "640" line of utility vises. It came as a rapid-action or conventional nut model, which is a very interesting feature.

Nice find! I don't see very many of those.

Thanks, that helps a lot. Any idea if it would be an earlier version, or a later one? Not that there is a big span of time before they changed it to a 640 model designation.

Added a pic of the other side in case that helps

Y00PER...As far as your question, you'll have to determine your specific model from the catalog scans. By 1963, Wilton changed the conventional nut models to a new "640" line of utility vises. They also dropped model no.664, leaving only the 663-1/2 and 665 as advertised models.

The new "640" line of utility vises had a very long and productive life, ending around 1990. You own a neat little piece of Wilton history. Enjoy your new vice!
