Vise pedestal

Here is a photo of my new vise. Still need to bolt to floor.

nice! I tried that once, I wound up moving the vise back to the bench to support longer items - drive shafts, axles ect.

I like that, but I'd like to build a couple of them for my grinders to get them off the work bench.

I think you need both a pedestal vise and one on a bench (or 2 or 3 ) Looks good. I'd suggest studs in the floor with nuts for easy removal. If you find an old truck rim or anything else you can bolt it to out in the driveway, you will be totally portable.

Yup I think I'll get a smaller unit to put on the bench
