Any way to tell the age of a Desmond Stephan vise?

There are no stamps on the dynamic.

Eddie: can you post up a few pictures? more than likely all we'll be able to do is give you a range, but since that company switched names several times before WWII it might narrow it down a bit.

personally they are one of my favorite brands and a KEEPER if you ask me.

How did you deal with the mashed/worn jaws? Did you mill new seats, or just grind them flat? And where did you get the new jaw inserts?

I just ground and filed it down. It was only the Dynamic side missing a jaw. I spent more time removing the broken bolt and drilling / tapping. I ordered the jaws from http://benchvisejaws.com/
