Vise question

I am wondering if this vise is worth picking up?
I noticed a that it is broken at the back.

Your second pictures don't really work, and I would consider that to be a parts vise.

When the vise is putting pressure on, the static jaw bast gets a lot of pressure on the support just below the static jaw, and the dynamic jaw slide lifts at the broken section as well, (but with less pressure).

What has been lost is the control pad for that upwards lift by the slide.

I would think it's worth $20 for the parts that are leftover. Get it! I'm sure someone here can use them...

Yeah for $20 you could use it till it really breaks, or part it out.
