Vise recommendation? Under $150?

Any recommendations on a general purpose work bench vice? I'm thinking 5" or 6". Will be used for general clamping and fabrication in my garage.

I'd prefer to spend under about $150 shipped from an on-line retailer.

Suggestions?

I'm looking at the Wilton 63302, about $130 shipped from Amazon. I realize it is not the USA built Wilton series, but better than other Chinese vises?

Any American or Euro-made vises in this size/price range?

I'd be happy to buy used, but nothing decent locally on CL.

I recommend craigslist for a good use american one for $50 or less

I wouldn't even bother with a new one when you can get great deals on used, plus they're superior.

I recently bought a Craftsman Pro for less than $160. It's got 4 1/2" jaws, and I'm liking it thus far. It's a Wilton clone.

Check Ebay. I got a nice used Parker for $50-ish with shipping about a year or so ago. Very clean and very pleased with the deal. Also check CL... make sure you look for VICE and VISE as people selling them aren't the best spellers half of the time. :)

i have a 3 1/2'' athol for sale check the classifieds secion $80obo

I think you'd find this one ^^^ (or any other vintage American) vise to be vastly superior to a Chinese Wilton and you can spend the leftover money on a bunch of other old tools that you don't need.

There's a thread here with some pictures of a mortally fractured brand new Wilton that'll make you think twice about spending $130 for one.

Don't discount buying one used and having it shipped... I shipped a 40lb Craftsman 2000 miles and it was < $40.
