Vise stand suggestions?

I don't really have the bench space on my work bench or welding table to keep my vise or bench grinder permanently mounted to either table. I am trying to get some ideas for a nice stand that I could build without actually bolting it to the floor cause I live in a townhouse and don't want to drill houses through the garage floor. Any suggestions for a nice solid base besides just a piece of flat steel?

Mounting a hitch receiver to your bench(es) and fabricating a base for the vise with the bar attached seems to be a popular solution.

im gonna be making one with a peice of 1/2in plate as the base, and 2in heavy wall as the riser. the weight is gonna come from several 45lbs or 100lbs weights from my old high school. my plan is to find another pipe that fits inside the 2in, or use solid stock, and then set bolts to hold the vise platfrom tight. that way i can pull the vise off, and add or remove weights to make things easier to move

I plan on doing something similar to what Jack Olsen did here:

One on my work bench, one on a wall near what will be my welding area. Maybe another somewhere else. I'd say put one on all of your work benches!

HF already has the vise mounts available too:

And the dual hitches:

I used a brake drum off a tractor trailer, about 120lbs,welded a plate to the open end, filled with the drum with sand, bolted another plate to the wheel stud holes.Added a piece of 4" tubing for a riser, another plate on top to bolt the vise to.With the drum, plates and sand the base is over 200lbs.

I'd love to do the double bench mount option but I have cabinets under my bench and my welder will not penetrate the top of my welding table (its like an inch thick)..I like the tractor trailer drum option cause I could roll that around on the edge if necessary
