did you really pay $600 for that vise? i'm betting you got a good deal, but not sure if that style ever had a swivel option. what do you need a swivel option for because some of my vises haven't swiveled in years?

now lets just say you need a swivel and one isn't made for this vise. what about making a nice sturdy stand from parts from the scrap yard or from friends? another option is to mount it on a rolling tool box or cart and turn it in any position you wish. you will like using it better if you move the static jaw out to the edge so you can put vertical pieces in the vise.

now it looks like this is your first post so welcoming you to Garage Journal and add when you know how to help and read a ton because some of the members might have designed the rockets that went to the moon.

cheers

you could mount it to a steel plate that is mounted to a hitch bar. the hitch bar receiver would mount to the side of your bench and accept the vise on the hitch bar. this will enable you to swivel it 360 degrees in 90 degree increments....better than nothing. think of a trailer hitch receiver, just mounted to the side of your bench. good luck and welcome.

Mount it on a steel plate with a similar plate beneath, then have 'extra' holes in the plate to be able to rotate it to the desired angle.

Odd to me how the whole thing is welded together not cast. Idk much about vises though.
