How much is a sears 7" vise worth? It's a 506 51840. The current owner said he would sell it for a fair price.

From what I can see I would put a fair price of about 75-85 dollars on it given that its not cracked or destroyed but it does like pretty good from the picture.

506 prefix means made by Columbian. It appears to be a fixed-base vise (no swivel base), which I prefer. They are very solid. Assuming jaws are in good shape, andno cracks or other issues that cannot be fixed with WD40 and steel wool/scotchbrite pad, that vise is easily worth $75, IF YOU NEED A VISE THAT BIG. For daily use, usually a 5" vise is more than adequate.

7"? if really 7" (Wide jaw), that is probably worth two bills or more... Forget the Craftsman on the casting; Columbian made that...

However, I believe that is a 4" wide jaw, possibly 4-1/2" and opens to 7" if so what Rusty said on price is about right.

Gotta be a 4", look at the door handle surround piece and roll of tape on the anvil as size comparison. Nice vise though, I'd be in at $60-75.

Picked the vise up for $35. Jaws fully opened are 8.5". Here is some pics next to my Chinese 5" vise. If I ever came a across a US made vice cheap I was going to get it.

I think you did really well on that. That vise is really clean and looks to be a light user. I've had a few of those exact Columbians and they are excellent vises, as good as any imho. I bet you can sell that Chinese vise and get pretty close to breaking even on the deal. Congratulations, that's a lifetime vise.
