Guy wants $375 for this 223-2 general fire extinguisher vise……what ya think

Sorry i might not know the rarity of this particular vise or something to that effect, but i think he's way off honestly. Most likely wouldnt pay that for a very large Wilton Bullet. I have a bunch of vises and never paid more than 100 for any of them. That includes Reeds, Columbian's, Wilton's, and Craftsman's. Just my 2 cents but sheesh $375 dang.

Thats a pretty big vise at 125lbs and it's a Grinnell. I would say it's pretty rare. How into vises are you? Are you a collector? Is this a user? You might try posting it on the big vise thread. Very knowledgeable guys there.

I'm not aware of those either and I do not consider myself a vise historian but if you are looking for a good user vise I would go with a Wilton or Reed, Columbian, Morgan. I'm just not a fan of the exposed spindle like that style.

He started at $500 I offered him $100, I think he got insulted said he wouldn’t go lower than $375. I have just started collecting most I paid was $80 for the rock island, reed was $75. Sure would like to have that vise but unless he comes down a lot (I might go as high as 200….maybe) I’ll pass.
