vista/stanley tooling cabinet questions

just bought a ???? tooling cabinet/it has a problem with the drawer catch system ! { the lock assembly is missing } the previous owner had a long 1/4 inch bolt in old lock assembly hole that was turned with a pair of vise grips to open and close the drawer lock /anyway it didnt work right ! upon tearing lock assembly apart -there is a verticle rod that swivels left and right ,at the top of rod is a slider assembly that has a "spring steel clip" that the verticle rod goes thru THAT seems to be broke off -one end of it is riveted to slider assembly -other end is fitted into slot /and when lock & drawer opener is turned the ss clip pulls out of slot in slider bracket ! is this replacable ? or what can i do to correct ? also anybody have an idea what brand it might be ?? there is a date in cabinet -1993 _ on some panels ? any help on what to do or go to ?thanks mike
