Voltage/ Wire Speed Jumping

I have a Lincoln 256 PowerMig have had it for a yr now an why ur welding the voltage will jump from 17 to 21 will not stay steady an wire speed is up an down will not stay where u set it at i have it ran to a 220 volt plug with 6gauge wire ran from plug about 65-75ft to breaker box, is there sumthing u have to swap inside this unit im not aware of, i just wanted to see if anyone has seen this problem before i send it in to get worked on thanks/ ps i also have a TD Cutmaster 82 for sale if anyone is interested.

If I were you I would open the unit up and check out that all wire connections were tight and no corrosion. Clean off all the dust and dirt accumulated in the machine. If the wire speed is changing confirm that it is not slipping in the feed rolls.

not just the wire speeds the voltage u set it on fluxuates an should stay steady right? drive rollers are set right a doesnt slip at all, thought it may be sumthing to do w circuit board just the speed digital numbers bouncing around an not staying set where u set them same for the voltage
