The titanium 170 $500 and Vulcan 215 is $800 Thoughts and suggestions? I didn’t see any direct comparisons that I could find. Both are dual voltage rated at 3/8 @ 220v both have spool guns for Aluminum.

The titanium 170 $500 and Vulcan 215 is $800 Thoughts and suggestions? I didn’t see any direct comparisons that I could find. Both are dual voltage rated at 3/8 @ 220v both have spool guns for Aluminum.
Neither one will likely have any mid to long term parts or aftermarket support. At that budget and feature list, you can get into a reputable unit like Hobart.
( Just trying to look out for future heartache. I got no pony in this race, I run Lincoln and ESAB's )

I went with the 170 because i wanted it now and didn't want to wait another month to save up for the next size or vulcan model. Im satisfied with my 170 forhome use and home duty cycle.

No dont have the money to buy the gun. Im still trying to get a gas tank. Just using flux core with 110 volt. Does ok for my little angle iron projects.Ok thanks guys. I think the 170 will be ok for me. Have you guys tried the spool gun?

Not gonna knock on HF, have the Titanium Flux 125 and find it a great machine for a newly created "welder" like myself. Was thinking of getting the 170 - would be a good purchase to upgrade my very old and tired MIG that was given to me.
Then I was turned on to the WeldPro line by my LWS when I was getting more parts for my old MIG.
Comparable to the HF unit I was looking at but -company reps I was able to talk on the phone with, support from local LWS, two year warranty, and great price. My BIL got one and is very pleased with it. I am planning on getting one soon.
Worth a look-see.

Yes, I see the shops are now getting in to the clone market. It has finally hit them that a lot of the welding biz was going to Joe Hometime. It might even help upsell some machines. Its an increase in store traffic that was going around them. A 170 class is a good leap from the 125 for a guy doing some light fab. You can weld a few bigger ieces when you got to and the finish is so good, so easy to fill gaps especially below 10 gage and can weld some 1/4 without alot of trouble.

Ok thanks guys. I think the 170 will be ok for me. Have you guys tried the spool gun?
If you are buying from the welding store I bet this works well, probably in line with the Eastwood stuff, sourced from someone knows how to test it.
I see some 400$ machine on the floor at the local and guy says, they got a couple busy guys and got 1/2 dozen out and none come back.
