In my 6 short years of driving I've owned about 8 dubs. 2 Mk1 Rabbits, 1 Mk3 Golf, 4 Mk4 Jettas and the Mk1 CC. Like most gear heads I've always dreamed about the perfect workspace. Ive been in this space for awhile but never really been in the position to do much to it till lately. My only problem is the lady and I are gonna be tying the knot later this year and were looking at building our own house. If im lucking hopefully I can convince her to let me build a small garage also. That being the case I dont wanna go to crazy with this space as I dont wanna do all this work and then not be able to move it so for now the majority of things will be things I can move into a new space.

Now being I've owned all these dubs ive collected numerous amounts of parts and my space was overflowing.I dont have to many pics from the past but ill try to find what i have.

Just those 2 were a huge improvement. I will be picking up another 4ft and then a few 2 fts. After that I will be hard wiring them in to clean up the wires.

This is my plan for how I want it

2297bb17650e33b296e676f899185c38.jpg

I really would like to enclose my whole area so I can heat it, these michigan winters are not fun. But until I know exactly what ill be doing in the future im gonna wait. the main thing i wanna get done is the Workbench. Im gonna pick up 2 Harbor Freight 44" boxes to build the frame around. Along with that lighting and just getting the walls finished up and a little paint. The final thing will be Flooring. Looking at swisstrax possible as I can take those with me wherever I go.

Thats it for now, ill be back with updates soon :rocker:

Michigan is a state that is so tough to make a real heating solution that is temporary. I like the VW collection; interesting cars for sure.

Where in 616 are you?

Michigan *****, I just have been using a bullet Heater but it's less then ideal. I'm over in alto, about 20 min from downtown Gr

Welcome! Love the plan, lucky to know such a nice guy to lend you the space.

Thanks!

Yea I help him it with other stuff in return. If I'm gonna end up staying here I'm gonna see about paying him a rent to expand my space a little bit and be able to close it all off

I work as a machinist and recently started a new job which required I bring my own tools. That meant bringing my main box with me which was already full. Now I'm down to one 3 drawer Kennedy at home that is wayyyyy to full.

My main box at work now

I think I'm gonna skip the harbor freight boxes and do a few kennedys. I made a a rendering of it but don't have the screenshot on me right now

GR is full of micro-brewers; Dangerous place to go for a beer lover such as myself. One thing that I have found with HF stuff- it is disposable. A nice box like a kennedy will last a lifetime that will cost so much more but is worth the investment. Kind of like a nice ratchet versus a HF ratchet....

More pics of the autobahn sleds please....

Yea I have a couple kennedys and love them. Just want ball bearing slides but I can retrofit them. We have so many machine shops here that it's easy to find a Kennedy used for not much more then a hf box new.

Here's the engine bay on the Jetta from this summer

I'm getting coilovers from a local guy once the snow is gone. I also have a set of brembos to go on once I buy rotors to go with them

I think I'm gonna end up staying st my shop. I'm gonna see about expanding my space a little so I can fit my Bridgeport in it. Also been looking at picking up a lathe. I made a rendering with everything in it but I don't have access to it right now. Ill post it up this afternoon.

Here's my plan if I expand. Don't look at the in even gap between some of the cabinets. I made it really quick and it's just a rough idea

This super junk shelf has been up for awhile so I put up my sound system. This whole shelf is coming down soon. Please don't look at it or the temporary workbench as a
Representation of my craftsmanship [emoji23]i can do much better
