W300 roll-up door install?

Does anyone have any experience with Mueller W300 roll up doors?
Any experience installing yourself?

I've got a single 8'X8' roll up door and two doors that are 10'HX12'W that need to be installed. I was surprised that none of the building erectors install doors when they build the building. I'm thinking they must know something I don't.
Everyone I know who have built pole barns or buildings are quick to say that the doors were a pain in the ****.

I looked into having a door installation company do the work and again I'm surprised by their install prices. Lots to chose form in the Houston area too.

So I may rent a material lift or small forklift, have some friends help and install myself. Just wondering if I'll be sorry. I looked at the install procedures and list of required tools. really doesn't look too bad, but I know looks can be deceiving. I definitely have everything needed as well as some decent mechanical and industrial experience; I've been working on offshore drilling rigs for 10 years now.

Again, just wondering if anyone had any horrible experience and would steer me to get the doors installed by the pros, or if you'd say it is a pain in the ****, but it's doable over the course of a few days, then fine, I think I can handle it.

One last question: how much does a 10x12 metal roll up door weigh?

We don't normally install roll up doors, but we do when somebody asks us to, so I am no expert here. We just recently installed a 9x7, at that size it was no problem installing it by hand. For the size of doors you are talking about, I think a forklift or a good sized scissor lift would be a must.

As far as installing them, they are a piece of cake, at least the smaller ones. Once you attach the tracks to the curtain, you stand it up against the wall and lag the whole thing to the wall. Then wind your springs. I can't believe the procedure is much different for larger doors.

I'm no expert but I installed a 9x10' roll up door on my barn last year with no problems. Mine is a Janus but looks very similar to a Mueller. It was really pretty simple, just bolt the tracks and brackets to edge of the door opening, lift the coiled up door to the brackets, bolt it in place, and make a few adjustments. I used a pair of ratchet straps to lift the door into place. All told the project took about 4 hours and that was working at a leisurely pace.

I have the means to lift the 8x8 door easily. Especially since it is a 12' high wall.

But lifting the 10' high doors near a 12' wall is going to be a little bit of a challenge. Nothing I can't handle eventually, I just see myself resorting to step B and C when A doesn't work haha.

Or I just rent the dang material lift for a day or two and be comfortable knowing it's the right tool for the job and lift them as safely as possible.
