Out of curiosity, what does the test port on a wago lever nut do?

I am assuming it is just a conductor in there that is connected to all the ports?

I guess my real question is: How has anyone used this port for problem solving?

It is a finger-safe access for easy probing with a DMM. I can't say I've used one of these before, but it sounds like an excellent feature.

That's exactly what they are for. There's one on each side for accessing with a probe. Easier and more reliable than trying to jam a probe inside a wirenut.
