Wagon Truck for tool box

I'm waiting to receive my new Snap-On KRL7022 tool box, which I purchased to haul the tools in our Featherlite car hauler trailer. I really would have loved one of the Snap-On TUV, but based on pricing it's not an option.

My goal is to have the type of wheels and turning axels as the TUV. I had been wondering if anyone makes some sort of kit to provide this functionality to standard toolboxes.

One thought was to try to look into the possibilities of just purchasing the necessary parts from snap-on just to provide this functionality, from the TUV part catalog, no side boxes. It seems like the bottom box has same width dimensions.

The other thought was to remove casters and secure to wagon truck, using the caster patterns. Northerntool has something that might work:

Has anyone seen or tried something similar in the past?

I would have thought that the risk of the lot toppling over would be high using the trolley in the picture, ok on the flat but any slopes or rough ground would be interesting.
I would be tempted to drop the axles to reduce C of G

For what a cart is gonna cost you why not have a fab shop bulid a custom frame out of square stock and then you can add pnuematic wheels, good bearings and drop it low enough with the wheels set up like outriggers to avoid any tipping issues.

It would be bolted unto the frame of the box, and given the weight of the box, it might be stable enough.

For what a cart is gonna cost you why not have a fab shop bulid a custom frame out of square stock and then you can add pnuematic wheels, good bearings and drop it low enough with the wheels set up like outriggers to avoid any tipping issues.

I have been contemplating this idea. Any suggestions on wheels and bearings?

Assuming you start out with a cart like the one posted that can hold the weight (Steering and casters), I'd cut it up, drop the box down between the wheels (like the SO one), and then you'll have about 1 foot fore and aft above the wheels to add a locker or hose reels or whatever.

I'd bet money that it will tip over one day if just sat upon a cart at stock height- even bolted. The ramp of the trailer and a couple brewskies don't mix.

Many moons ago I tried using a HF cart similar to the Northern Tool cart. It was supposedly rated for 1000 lb. I had a standard (can't remember size) CM top and bottom chest bolted to the cart (not stacked) and another top bolted too. The chests were in no way full.
I had to lean backward while pulling just to get the thing to roll. Tires were too small (2 wheel cart size) and bearings probably not the best.
Definitely go for larger tires/better bearings.

Guess I should have Googled the Northern Tool truck wagon. Looks to be much heavier duty than the HF cart. I would agree with the COG though.
