Ive seen this before but don't know what it is called, when the building has outside wainscoting (looks like short sections of metal roofing), there is a strip of same color metal across the top, giving it a nice finished look, covering the corrugations. What is that strip called, so I don't look like an idiot trying to order it? Are they all the same, or are there variations? Thanks

in the Metal Sales book it calls these pieces out as
Double angle or Wide "Z" metal
it doesnt appear to have a special name. at least not from this manufacturer.

Around here these are made by a local sheet metal shop.
They can make it to supplied measurement.

Yep, it's basically a "Z" shape. I sketched up what I wanted with dimensions and took it with me when I ordered my sheet metal for the shop. They were able to fab it up that day. $1/lf hemmed on the lower edge similar to the pic below.

Well there ma be variations but they are basicly the same. It's giving you a finished dodge, and shedding the water from above.

I don't like to leave the edge unsupported over cultured stone. I like to use a piece of blocking on top to prevent the edge from deforming when it's under a load. This would apply to any nonuniform substrate.
