As far as I now, Walden was making all their own early fixed and detached socket drive wrenches. I have the No. 8 and No. 16 sets and they both have the same ratchet, a No. 516 (just 2 inches shorter than the No. 716), also with the forged in "K". It may have been a foundry code. Or have another meaning that has never been found or interpreted, again, as far as I know.

Strange thing but some time back (mind is blank), I called a tool company, and asked about the forging marks and the engineer at the time told me they were a proprietary process that only the company in question could use and he was not at liberty to divulge to the public. Lots of lawyer double talk...:headscrat

Such as life as they say...:rolleyes::rolleyes::eek:
