I found a Walden Worcester Wrenches "No. 3 Socket Wrench Set" box at an estate sale today. It was empty, but in pretty good shape for being almost 100 years old.

It is 6-15/16" long, 2-1/8" wide, and 1-7/16" tall. I have not found any reference to this set on the internet.

It may have been made before the 1926 merger with Stevens, based on the absence of the Stevens name on the box. Does anyone know what was in it when new?

Have no idea what belongs in that box, but it might be the oblong drive set. I have 10 numbered sets of Walden, but not that one.

Have no idea what belongs in that box, but it might be the oblong drive set. I have 10 numbered sets of Walden, but not that one.

Based on the size of the box, and comparing it to the #4 and #6 sets, I would guess that the set consisted of the following:

#111 5-inch Ratchet
#1135 5-inch Extension Bar
# X-2 Universal Joint
100-series sockets from 3/8 up as will fit.

I have no idea how long Walden offered this kit, but I have never seen an ad listing it. :dunno:
