I'm toying with the idea of possibly doing a Coolbot controller on a A/C unit for a seasonal walk-in cooler. Curious if folks here have done such a thing and I'd love to see pictures and hear budget numbers and money saving ideas.

Fitted a cheap window AC unit and a coolbot in an insulated cold room (120 square foot?) with a broken reefer unit we couldn't find anyone to service. Still working 6+ years later and it's serviceable by any idiot. Cut a hole in the insulated panel for the ac unit and hung it about 7 foot off the ground. Only thing we had to mess with was drainage from the AC unit to a better spot that could handle the volume of water in the summer when the humidity was high and the door was being used frequently.

There are youtube videos that show how to create your own cheaper version of a coolbot using inkbird temperature controllers. I haven't used these but will the next time I build one for a meatlocker.
