I'm on a budget and need a good jack. I "inherited" a made in china jack when I moved in to my place but it won't hold up the car (a 1949 Ford). It gets it up but immediately starts letting it down again. A royal pain. I could rebuild it (I've seen an excellent thread on here about rebuilding foreign jacks) but I've seen an ad on Craigslist for a Walker 2 ton floor jack model 1-132 series AP for $90 Canadian (I live in Vancouver). The guy lives nearby. He says it's about 30 years old but I know Walker are American made which is what I'm after.

Does anyone know anything about this model and what are the chances of it still being in good condition after 30 years?

Any advice appreciated.

Go see it, see if it works and take your chances. Look for leaks, etc. Seems a bit pricey to me. Hiball is the rebuild expert.
