Bought this jack this weekend and jack was frozen. Got it unstuck but the one small wheel caster is destroyed. The jack is a 1920's walker roll a car model 740 with a 5000lbs capacity. Was wondering if anyone has a odd parts for this jack. I would appreciate any info or parts . Thanks in advance

I wonder if you could drill out the "axle" on that wheel and put a new, good wheel in it's place using a bolt for a replacement axle? If you can't get one the exact size, maybe get two and replace both rear wheels.

i thought about replacing wheel only. If I went that route I think cutting the axle would be easier than drilling. I do have a drill press to do that type of work. but I was trying to keep original or close to it as possible. thank you for the suggestion. can you think of any suppliers of steel wheels for it.

I'd just make a new one from scratch personally. Maybe look around to see if you can find a commercial one similar, but that's a pretty simple lathe and rotary table job. You'll have to grind off the peened over part of the axle to get out it.

I am looking for some wheels too for my jack. We still use the jack and my wheels are getting thin from the years of rolling on the concrete. On yours, why not heat the axle part up up with a torch and then turn the wheel. to break it free.

Hey guys, here's what you need to do. I've been looking for wheels for some time (jacks and other stuff) and I've found that typing "old cast iron wheels" and "vintage cast iron wheels" finds a lot of what you might be looking for on ebay. Also substitute "casters" for "wheels" and do the same. Also repeat the same using "steel" instead of "cast iron." I've come across many jack wheels that scrappers, junkers, re-sellers, etc. sell on ebay for the vintage/steampunk/rustygold value. They pretty much peel the wheels off of anything old and put it up on ebay. Obviously, you can search "jack wheels", "floor jack parts", "floor jack wheels" as well, but you get the most hits searching the aforementioned. Good luck!

I have a towable engine hoist that I needed new casters and wheel for the "put it to work" position - you flip it one way, has a hitch, and ride on 12" trailer tires, flip it 90 degrees, and your in position to lift something heavy, on 4 smaller steel wheels, two of them being casters. Anyway, American Caster was able to hook me up with brand new steel wheels, along with greasable axles. Doesn't look like they are setup for online ordering, but they have a downloadable catalog. I think 4 axles and 4 steel wheels we paid about $32 out the door, but we /may/ have gotten a price break due to being a walk-in customer rather than ordering over the phone. They won't be the authentic wheels you are looking for, but they will at least be suitable for the purpose.

You will have to make one from scratch or buy a donor jack. I use this jack on my cars and it is awesome!
