Hello,

I recently aquired an old Walker 784 Series C I with the less common rear wheel casting (less streamlined).

The jack is in pretty rough shape and has some parts missing - mostly the universal joint and probably part of the handle release. An owner before the last welded a bit of steel to the release valve to make a handle at the bottom of where the universal joint is missing. The lifting arm linkage bolts also have really damaged threads.

Usually I'd like to think I have sufficient skills and tools to repair or replace parts but I'm presently without a lathe which would make some of this much easier. This means I'll potentially be interested in locating some used spare parts if the hydraulic parts are good enough to repair, to at least get it functioning.

I'm located in the UK and vintage American jacks (or other tools / machines) from after the war aren't so common, this also extends to parts. I'm pretty sure we still had rationing when my own jack was made and comparing the Walker to something built here, like an EPCO or SKYHI it's pretty easy to see the different approach to construction.

I wondered if anyone has a picture of the handle parts broken down?
and if anyone has a source of used/ new parts?

Following my last post I've managed to find some pictures of the handle parts, and have started freeing off those parts - might have to drill out the cross pin which keeps the release knob on.
Seems the handle locking shaft has been replaced with something which was just stuck in.

Removed one of the front wheel shaft rivets and drilled the other, and am gradually getting there with freeing and removing the remaining front wheel which still has it's cover stuck on. The wheel was frozen but now turns with some force

Had a 15 ton wheel bearing puller on it today trying to separate the frame, will try again, probably once the remaining front wheel is removed.

Feels like gradual progress on something in poor condition.
