1,000 pound capacity, 3” to 26” working height. Looks sturdy and the ratchet mechanism works smoothly... How old is it and what would it be worth.

I bid up around $200 on one similar to that one on ebay about 18 months ago. Somebody else bid even more right at the end but I don't remember how much. Those are nice because there are no hydraulics to worry about. I used to work at a place that sold them.

I say OCG starts a new thread and begins to restore that old thing. I can see it now with a nice new paint job....

The transmission jack is part of the stash that came along with the restoration shop equipment I purchased a few months ago. At my age and being that it is difficult getting on the floor to work under a vehicle. While owning six car lifts,, I don't have to. I thought I would sell it off.

The design has its' advantages over the ones sold today that are hydraulic action. It's in good Mechanical shape. Indeed a fresh paint job would spruce it up!

Elroy remembered that cool old jack from one of your earlier posts:

I just purchased the entire contents of an antique car restoration shop! .........

Along with tools and equipment pictured below, and a 5 HP axial fan for my paint booth.............

Old transmission floor jack, engine re-building stand, engine hoist balancer

In Elroy's humble opinion a nice restoration would be in order. Choose your colors carefully. That thing will knock your eyes out done properly. With all the other "stuff" in your haul that has got to be the most unique piece!!!

Elroy was hoping to see some more of that jack and appreciate you posting it up again

And what color do you suggest?

Walker jacks were a deep bright blue.

I think the traces that remain are leftovers of the original color junkman. I think the jacks made in the later years were painted more of a navy or royal blue with yellow lift plate and some or all of the handle painted bright yellow.

All of the earlier Walkers were of the color we see on OCG's jack above, with yellow accents as already described. My old Walker long frame service jack was originally that same blue as well. I vividly remember deciding against spending around $200 for a direct Walker replacement bottle for my jack (huge mistake I still regret) anyway, the replacement bottle I turned down was that same hue of blue. That blue is an original Walker color.

If OCG removes the old info tag on the jack I think my theory on the color will be proven.

Open this ebay link, it shows another old Walker trans jack wearing the same color.

Some of the original blue can be seen. In this case Elroy would use something brighter. And don't forget some pin strip.

At least, high light the ribs in the casting with a contrasting color.

Look at the blue in OCG lift. High light in yellow with a little white here and there.

It gets down to personal taste. The original blue would be safe. Note the red in the label.

Gloss black with white high light might look good as well.

Hammer Tone blue ???

Red and white

John Deere green

pink

brown

gray ???

this would require a few drawings to pick a good color combination. Elroy's point is the art deco design needs to be emphasized. We would think two colors at least.

I think my Walker jack was solid blue when I bought it new back in '63. My Lincoln jack has the yellow accents.

Here’s what the jack looks like after disassembling, sandblasting, and a fresh coat of paint.

Seems as though I may have an antique floor jack,, that may be as old as 1933. After doing a research of the patent number 1,900,528. Walker Manufacturing company of Racine, Wisconsin filed for a US patent on January 28, 1932. And was granted a patent on March 7, 1933. At first glance, the only deviation from the patent drawings and my jack are two bosses located on the handle. That prevent your hand from being smashed between it and the floor.

I have had one of these jacks for about five years and I would like to sell it. The one I have needs painting but otherwise is in really good condition.

Had one of these years ago, and had it set up for pulling PTO units out of International tractors. Really liked the smoothness and simplicity of it.
Let a guy borrow it, and his shop burned down while he had it.

I am guessing you are not on here anymore but maybe I will get lucky. If so where did you come up with the actual paint you used to redo that walker jack?

I just got this from my family’s business today. I remember putting in 9 speed Eaton Fuller transmissions in mixers and road tractors with this little Jack 30 years ago.
