Walker 93652

Hey all. I have a Walker 93652. I was using it one day and I noticed fluid bubbling out of this off white nipped. After that, it would no longer pump. I feel like (famous last words, as any mechanically inclined person knows) that this should be an easy fix, but I can't figure it out. Any ideas?

Main ram cup is kaput... Your pumping air/oil into reservoir via the cylinder weep hole.

Essentially the same components, minus the Cylinder size.

There is a link above/common Q&A sticky that documents the 93632, it will mimic your Jack. Regardless your Jack will need to be completely torn down, should be inspected prior to purchasing a seal kit, and replace all kit parts, not just the main ram seal.

I'm a fan of doing things the complete correct way, so thats fine. I don't imagine there is a how to video for this, is there? If not that, is there like a walk through somewhere?

Yeah it gets all jacked up mid stream...stick to first couple pages for a clean description. A video would be nice, link it when your done. I've heard there are some on YouTube currently, but haven't verified.

I read somewhere that you sell these rebuild kits... Is that true? How much do they run?

I'm not currently shipping kits, there are multitude of online vendors, of course if you have a local shop by chance they might be able to assist you. In my signature is a good friend who can provide you with a seal kit or any parts you need. Again.. Tear it down first and verify condition, take notes on any other parts you might need and dos me price checking. It's common to need A New Heel plate, Release Valve etc..

Here is a link to a Lincoln 93652, yours is a older style so it has a different block style but the parts should match up. I'm trying to think, but I think your Jack should have a Hex tank nut versus the spanner tank nut in the Walker 93632 link, thus it will be much easier to service.

Couple videos I found useful are these:

This one shows you how to quickly get the pump out the simple way:
(BTY these guys are in NY I believe if you just want to exchange out your pump)

THen this one is a guy tearing his apart. It's not great because it is his first time doing it as well but you can get an idea of whats needed.

Eventhough my rebuild kit came with new balls for the valves I skipped that step because they are so hard to get out the the slots and you need some specialized tools to remove the caps and unscrew the valves.


Pay close attention to the asterisks in the parts listing that Hiball linked to above. Those are the parts that will get replaced with any rebuild kit you buy. I found this manual to be a bit more clear:

FWIW.. Not removing the freeze plug, Valve plugs and balls/weights is a bad idea, especially if your Ucup has went to pieces, all that **** gets in the veins and will cause problems down the road. It just takes a El cheapo hand impact and a good fitting bit to remove the valves.

Much appreciated. What size socket do I need to remove that big piece? You guys said something about a specific socket type or something... What type is that?

Thanks Hiball, good Advise. my Ucup did go to pieces, many small pieces. grain really. I removed the freeze plug (thats the one in the side mounting bolt hole correct) and cleaned that out. THen I hooked up a tube to the fluid pick up and pumped clean fluid through the valve till it was clear of debris. I was prepared to take it all apart and replace the valve balls if needed but it seems to be working OK now with all fresh seals and such.

What you think? Safe?

#14 explains the difference, if you look at the link in post #3 you will see the David made a special socket to fit the "spanner type tank nut", believe yours should have a hex, if so you can simply use a socket (don't recall the size off hand) or if you don't mind teeth marks a pipe wrench. There is already lots of good information here at GJ regarding this style of Jack, just take your time and refer to the exploded view diagram and pictures in #3 at your disposal.

It's possible that it will be OK, if you ever run into any handle feedback or poor pump performance, you will know what's up.

I just read of breaking bits and such and said, let me see if I can avoid that situation. DO need to get me a good impact driver tho.

Semi related question...i was dragging it up and down my rear stairs to use it. Could that be why it gave? It'd only 3 steps.

Hard to say... Probably wasn't good on it, but as seals get some age on them, they harden, thus go to pieces, so the jarring could have set it free..

Once you get the hydraulic unit out of the frame, you will need a Vise or something similar to hold the unit while you remove the tank nut, it's torqued upwards to 250ft lbs.
