I have been looking for a trans jack to use under my lift. I don't want Chinese,. Don't mind an older version.
I see this one on CL and was wondering if there was any common unfixable issues with them. I guess it is only a 500 lb version but for what I need that would be plenty.

Hi Ball??? What is the parts availability of this jack?
Ad says "solid but hydraulic issues". Seller does not elaborate on what those might be. Price seems cheap enough and is"O.B.O." to boot. I have a phone call into the seller for more information. It is a ways away from me but I have a buddy who lives in the area that's picking it up for me if all seems on the up and up.

All soft parts are available, as long as it's not a rusted up mess, I'd say go for it. IME Quality Transmission jacks are few and far between on secondary markets, and when you can find them, they are pricey.

OK thanks. I saw something about these units somewhere else online said that something within them is notorious for egging out that is NLA new and that they fix them by sleeving them back to size.
That scared me a little when I saw that.

I had looked this unit up on Google for a pic since the seller didn't provide one, it was there where I saw the info about that. Thank you for your input.
I am looking at this for me to use at home so it's not like it would be used 10 times a day everyday, or anything.

Link? On occasion pump cylinders, especially without heavy guides and long foot levers can be troublesome, but it doesn't ring a bell as being a extremely common issue with this model.

I'll have to look and see if I can find it again but this outfit said that these units are notorious for this issue....
I have used and owned a lot of Walker hydraulic equipment over the years and they have always seemed to be a good brand,. Them and BlackHawk. I know them to both be shells of their former selves these days.

I got pix of it from the guy, it looks pretty clean, not rusty or anything, but he says that it is dead and won't do anything but is not seized up or anything like that
For the asking price, I think it might be worth taking a chance on. I will still have to do my present transmission pill with my Walker low rise model that I have had forever, laying on my back even though I now have a lift that will allow me to stand up under a car when all the way up....I'll have it working though for when the fresh trans goes back in...

well I wound up doing exactly what I DIDN"T want to, found a barely used HF POS on CL for about 1/2 price. it will get me thru "this" trans swap, have a buddy that lives near the one that is subject of this post, he will p/u the walker for me and hang onto it til I see him next.... I see recond. Walkers like this one for 10X asking price of this one at varous hyd repair outlets online.... then I wwill get mea kit to do that one and have myself a good US made (old... so what) and can sell the Chinamade one again on CL for nearly what I paid.... cheap rental.
