Good afternoon!
New guy to the forum here and what a wonderful source of information and just plain cool sh!t!!!
However, I'm stuck trying to identify this walker floor jack that was my grandfathers. I plan on rebuilding and using it. The nameplate is gone. The only identification marks i see are the numbers 4 and 2877 on the ram housing. I took a measurement of the ram and well and it seemed to be pushing 2" dia.
The color was originally blue with traces of yellow in the handle. I found two cotterpins sitting on the pedestal , after looking over the jack do they go on the shaft that is holding the springs that is tapered on both ends? I have attached some pictures.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as well some good links for a rebuild kit that is either in Canada or ships!
Thanks again!
Andrew

Looks startlingly like my Walker. If there are detail differences that would indicate a different model, I'm not seeing them (but I haven't used my Walker in years due to a failed linkage piece that I have finally located last Friday and will be ordered 'n' paid-for later today.

Look at the base of the handle. I think I'm seeing the nameplate in the first photo. At least, that's where it is on mine and I think I see it on yours.

So...I'm pretty sure you have a 2-ton Roll-A-Car, which was the smallest of the series. I have seen ancient advertisements--probably on this site--showing the range of Walker jacks from 2-ton through 10- or 20-ton. I did a quick search, but couldn't find it again.

So I emailed a few places and according to the casting numbers on the frame (G904, G914, G924, G934) the jack is a roll a car 784.
I got it all stripped down today and noticed a few things. The lifting arm at one point was brazed due to a minor crack (ill be fixing that as long as i can get the seals fixed) Andddddddd the tank nut was extremly loose..probably why oil was leaking.
With that being said does anyone know the specific torque for the tank nut and should there be a washer behind it or does it just seal against the packing?

Thanks !

Anyone know what the upstop trip pin does in the ram?
My guess is that the cross pin hits a point in the cylinder wall when it maxes out and trips the pin which allows no more fluid?
It seems mine has brokw so ill either fab one up or just be weary when using jack.

Cheers

Not exactly as I remembered. Shorty 2-ton, plus 2, 3, 4 ton "Boy" series.

What threw me with yours is that only the 2-tons are devoid of the fill piece between the front wheels.
